The “1st NikolaiZauber” invites to a colorful festival of cabaret in Berlin’s Nikolai quarter on August 26/27
Artists, jugglers, magicians, walk acts, clowns and music: On August 26 and 27, the “1st NikolaiZauber” invites you to a festival for the whole family in the Nikolaiviertel in Berlin-Mitte. It will be a big, colorful hustle and bustle in the entire quarter of Berlin’s historic center – with national and international artists of world class.
The Berlin jugglers from Opus Furore inspire as “Roaring Clubsters”, Aaron Berliner comes with a spectacular ball juggling or artist Jule Schuster from Weimar brings a breathtaking performance on the slack rope. Entertainer Maik Catterfeld creates magical moments for the children with amazing magic tricks. Johnman, a former world champion of “Living Statues”, surprises as a living projection screen with lots of color. The acrobats of “LaMetta – Der Sculp” present their show in golden 1920s outfits. There is a colorful spectacle on stilts with the butterfly elves.
All artists enchant the beautiful Nikolaiviertel – in front of the Nikolaikirche, in front of the Knoblauchhaus, in the Rathausstraße, Poststraße, Probststraße or at the dragon slayer monument “St. Georg” at the bank of the Spree. The central show stage is located directly on Nikolaikirchplatz.
Many of the owner-operated stores, businesses and restaurants in the car-free district will be taking part in the NikolaiZauber-Fest. For example, a colorful variety show will take place several times at “Wilde Mathilde” restaurant. In front of the store “Erzgebirgischer Weihnachtsmarkt” there are demonstrations by wood turners and wood carvers. The Zille Museum offers a cheerful excursion into Old Berlin with Berlin originals Heinrich Zille, corner man Nante and flower woman Anna Haase on the barrel organ.
There is also great music: The café “KugelEi” opens its “Swing Café” and the “Die Herr’n von der Tankstelle” bring musical moments with nostalgic charm from old UFA sound films like “Ein Freund, ein guter Freund” or “Mein kleiner grüner Kaktus” to the Nikolaiviertel in the garden of the restaurant “Fischer & Lustig”. The jazz duo “Bar Weaver” will delight with saxophone and double bass.
For the youngest visitors there is a special children’s area at the Knoblauchhaus. Here they can have fun with airbrush tattoos, try out historical games and have their face painted. Clowns and magicians always provide entertainment.
