Kunsthaus Lempertz is one of the leading fine art auctioneers in Europe and the world’s oldest family-owned auction house. Lempertz, whose corporate history dates back to 1789, is headquartered in Cologne and has branches in Berlin, Munich and Brussels as well as representative offices in Zurich, Milan, Sao Paulo and New York. Items being auctioned include Old Masters, Arts and Crafts, Modern Art, Photography, East Asian Art as well as African and Oceanic Art. Auctions are held in Cologne, Berlin, Brussels and Monaco.
Lempertz has been located in Berlin for 25 years and calls Nikolaiviertel home since 2005. The building at Poststrasse 22 was originally erected in 1870, later rebuilt in the 1950s and is now protected as a listed building. Contemporary art exhibitions and auction previews are regularly shown in the light-filled 300 sq. meters auction hall.
