The Fête de la Musique 2025 – in the Nikolai Quarter and all over Berlin

On June 21, it’s finally time again for the Fête de la Musique! This year, however, it will be the anniversary edition “30 years of Fête de la Musique in Berlin” and we are delighted that music will once again be performed at several locations in the Nikolai quarter.

What began in 1995 with a music truck and a concert at the Tempodrom is now one of the biggest fêtes in the world. The Berlin Fête de la Musique 2025 will be a magnificent celebration of music, with over 200 venues spread across the entire city. For free and outdoors, in clubs, in front of important buildings or simply on the sidewalks of the capital. On the longest day of the year, the whole of Berlin will become a stage and there will be music at three fixed locations in the Nikolai Quarter:

In front of the St. Nicholas Church
Here the opera dolmuş starts at 4:30 pm with classical, rock and pop (there is a repeat at 8 pm). Milonga en Piso Alemán, an installation accompanied by latin / tango, follows at 5:45 pm. At 6:30 pm there is jazz, reggae, funk & folk by Calango All Styles OrkeStar and finally at 9 pm R’n’B, blues, pop, hip-hop and neo-soul with King Josephine.

Stage in front of the museum laboratory at Ephraim-Palais
The capital city choir “Die Bunte Bande Berlin” starts here at 4 pm with indie pop. From 17:10, “Of Fools & Queens” will delight with finely tuned close-harmony vocals and acoustic sophistication. And finally, at 19:25, “Orchestre Miniature in the Park” will perform folk, indie pop, rock and pop.

Knoblauchhaus (indoor)
At 5 pm, Grit Schulze performs a concert for classical music lovers on the restored Lyra grand piano. What a combination: experiencing the sound of a historical instrument from 1835 in a unique Biedermeier setting (the concert will be repeated at 6 pm).

Of course, there’s even more “Fête” in our immediate vicinity: for example, on the steps in front of Berlin Cathedral, in the Humboldt Forum (in the Passage and also in the Schlüterhof) and indoors in the Parochialkirche. And directly across the street, at the Rotes Rathaus, you can look forward to a total of four acts: Kingsley Q (R’n’B / Pop), FULL, RED, GRENADE (Punk / Rock), Linus Cuno (Pop) and Paula Stellar (Pop / Folk).

What we think is absolutely fantastic are the new and extended stage times: this year, the stages can start their programs at 2 p.m. and, in coordination with the authorities, some of them can be played until midnight.

Let’s welcome the summer together and celebrate music – in the Nikolai Quarter and all over Berlin!
