NikolaiZauber: a festival for the whole family – on August 30 and 31 in the Nikolaiviertel district

22. August 2025

Before the “3rd NikolaiZauber” invites visitors to experience and participate in a colorful, artistic event that will amaze the audience, Stefanie Remlinger, mayor of Mitte, together with WBM managing director Lars Dormeyer, will open the festival on Saturday, August 30, at 12 noon on the stage in front of the Nikolaikirche.

Just before that, starting at 11:00 a.m., the “Fanfarenzug Marzahn” marching band will provide a lively start to two days full of magic, artistry, juggling, clowning, and lots of music as it parades through the Nikolaiviertel neighborhood with cheerful music.

After the opening, the festival program will begin, and artists from many genres will enchant visitors throughout the neighborhood with their performances: BLANKO will be back with his color performance, “DJuggledy” with his spectacular diabolo show, and “LaMetta” will be dressed in gold as living statues. New in 2025: Spanish artist Marie Juana will showcase her fiery temperament on the slack rope and also demonstrate the fine art of balance on the double slack rope. The “Busch Company” presents musical comedy with modern clowning, Jay Toor presents her fresh show “Holiday on Delay” and mime artist Bastian performs his silent art. There will also be more music for joyful dancing with the “Herr’n von der Tankstelle” and the show girls from “Wilde Matilde”.

Families can also look forward to the extra area at the Knoblauchhaus. Here at the “museum laboratory,” historical games await visitors for shared fun. The little ones can have their faces painted or be embellished with airbrush tattoos. Clowns and magicians provide entertaining performances throughout the day, including Clown Lulu, Clown Rosinchen, and Clown Constance Debus.

As a special offer as part of the “3rd NikolaiZauber,” the Stadtmuseum Berlin invites you to visit the “Museum Nikolaikirche,” Berlin’s oldest preserved church building, free of charge during the day on August 30 and 31. Here you can learn about Berlin’s exciting past and discover family offers such as the audio guide or a rally for children.
